County Health Rankings program is a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The site ranks county statistics for morbidity and mortality for the United States.

To use the site, a map is available on the beginning page. Click on the state, then county. All the counties in the state are listed, along with their ranking within the state. Click on the compare counties button to get the actual statistical listings for the state and counties. The statistics included are health, social and economic factors, along with physical environment and clinical care. They are listed by percentage and number.

America’s Cuisine

The country’s finest chefs reveal their secrets in our extensive collection of restaurant recipes. These printable restaurant recipes can be prepared at home to satisfy your culinary cravings!” Recipes range from appetizers to desserts.

Restaurants in different cities are listed, including those in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. Memphis restaurants are well represented and include everything from “Chez Phillippe” to “Automatic Slim’s”. Each restaurant includes the address, the chef, some recipes, and where they are located.

 

 

Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a library of learning videos. It includes over 3,000 videos covering such topics as “K-12 math, science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and even reaches into the humanities with playlists on finance and history” from the site. Each video allows you to work at your own pace. Practice exercises and assessments are included. Videos are around 10 minutes each and are geared towards watching on the computer.
