This new site from the Association of Health Care Journalists allows a search of hospital inspection reports throughout the nation. The database begins in January 2011 through now. From the website: “This site includes details about deficiencies cited during complaint inspections at acute-care and critical access hospitals. It does not include results of routine inspections or those of psychiatric hospitals or long-term care hospitals. It also does not include hospital responses to deficiencies cited during inspections.”
To search the database, scroll down to the map and select which state you need. Limiters can be placed in the search box next to the state search. These include searching by abuse, medication errors, and other search terms. In the search results, the hospital systems are listed in alphabetical order. The number of violations the hospital system has had, along with a link to the full report is listed.
